Minolta is the first domestical manufacutere of 6 x 6cm format TLR camera, which was introduced under the name of "MinoltaFlex" before W.W.II. in 1937. Minolta's TLR camera had been well-known as the camera with a brilliant and high-resolution lens and been popular for a long time. Among them, one of the most beloved camera is "Minolta Autocord", launched in October, 1955.

One of the feature of Minolta Autocord is that it equips with high-resolution Rokkor lens.
Also, it adopted unique film transportation mechanisim that the film is transported from the upper side to the bottom, which began to be utilized from "Minoltacord Automat" introduced in 1955, and which after all resolved the problem that, on normal TLR camera at that time, the film was transported from the bottom to the upper side, which caused the film to be bent at right angles while transported and the film flatness to be disturbed.
Another one is that, since "Minoltacord" introduced in 1953, Minolta's TLR camera had employed helicoid focusing, which was different from lensboard extention focusing employed by Rollei-type TLR camera. It had advantages in manufacturing camera and also maintaining quality of it.

The camera we are going to feature for this time is the one with built-in celenium meter named "Minolta Autocord L" introduced at the same time as Minolta Autocord.
