The main course of Mamiya-35 III was that it followed the basic appearance and control of Mamiya-35 II while employed the latest technologies, and at the same time it would be released on the market at a lower price.

Mamiya-35 III came on the market in April, 1957 which was one year after the II type was introduced.
Even though the lens was Mamiya Sekor 50mm f/2.8 that was same as the one on the II type, the shutter on the III type was Seikosha MXL equipped with light value scale, which was for the first time in Japan. Seikosha MXL was very superior that exposure (light value) wouldn't be changed no matter what the shutter speed was at. In addition to this, the viewfinder was changed to Albada finder, and the film wind lever was made to one-stroke type.

Since Mamiya-35 III had gotten high reputation on the market, it became the basic model of Mamiya-35 series afterwards, and was inherited on Mamiya S, S2, and Mamiya Wide.

Well then, let's take a look at it.
