Coupling shoe shape

The earlier model has the triangle-shape coupling shoe (top, left), while the later two have a slightly rounded one.
The bottom figure shows AI-Nikkor lens that has the coupling shoe with holes in each side.
These holes send more light to the viewfinder than the other two, which makes it easier to read the aperture through it.
